In response to the rising number of devotees attending the Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj, authorities have released new traffic and bathing guidelines. These directives ensure that individuals approaching from various locations, like the Parade Mela area and Jhunsi, can access designated bathing ghats at the Sangam and adjoining areas. A 'No Vehicle' zone has been declared throughout the Mahakumbh vicinity, permitting only those vehicles sanctioned by the Mela Police.
To further support this massive gathering, Northern Railway has scheduled special Vande Bharat trains operating from February 15 to 17. The route will connect New Delhi and Varanasi via Prayagraj, accommodating the influx of pilgrims during the spiritual event. These trains aim to provide timely and efficient travel for attendees.
The Uttar Pradesh administration has celebrated the Mahakumbh's unprecedented scale, boasting participation from over 500 million individuals – a number surpassing the populations of major countries. Recent data points to significant attendance on key days, such as 76.4 million on Mauni Amavasya and 14 million on Magh Purnima, reaffirming its status as the world's largest spiritual gathering.
