As the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj continues to captivate the nation, over 2.79 lakh passengers boarded trains from the city's railway station by 6 am on Saturday, according to reports from Indian Railways. Friday saw over 10.47 lakh passengers traveling on 328 trains, illustrating the massive influx of devotees.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal, reflecting on his visit to the Maha Kumbh, described the event as an emotional experience. In a statement to ANI, he emphasized the gathering as a profound embodiment of India's collective spirit, noting that more than 50 crore people from around the world had participated, thereby affirming India's growing global influence.
Recalling Coldplay frontman Chris Martin's interest in the Maha Kumbh during his time in Belgium, Goyal noted how Martin's visit helped convey a message of 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat' globally. The Maha Kumbh not only attracts foreign dignitaries but also fosters a deep connection to Hindu traditions among the youth, while the Uttar Pradesh government reported that more than 3.324 million devotees have already taken a sacred dip at the Triveni Sangam.
