Sources reveal nearly all of Power Africa's programs are slated for closure, and most of its workforce has been dismissed. However, certain initiatives connecting African projects with U.S. companies might continue under different U.S. agencies.

Launched in 2013 by President Obama, Power Africa aimed to electrify millions of African homes. Currently, programs are under review to align with U.S. interests, according to a State Department spokesperson quoted by Bloomberg. The office of government relief, USAID, which operated Power Africa, is the primary focus of a spending cut initiative led by Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency.
