Following the devastating Pahalgam terror attack, India has launched a targeted military response known as Operation Sindoor, aimed at decimating terror hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The Indian Armed Forces executed strikes at nine strategic locations, deploying air, land, and sea capabilities.
A tourist from Mumbai, visiting the Pahalgam site, expressed confidence in the Indian military and government leadership. He remarked, "I salute those who lost their lives in the Pahalgam attack, but I have faith in the Indian armed forces. I know that whatever they need to do, they will do it."
In an official debrief, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri outlined the mission's objectives, revealing that significant terrorist infrastructure linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), and Hizbul Mujahideen had been dismantled. Colonel Sofiya Qureshi provided specifics on the targeted camps, including those in Sialkot, Pakistan, notorious for housing hostile elements.
The coordinated operation, executed between the early morning hours of 1:05 am to 1:30 am, targeted four camps in Pakistan in cities including Bahawalpur and Muridke. These sites are known for training terrorists involved in various past attacks in India. The effort was in retaliation against groups responsible for the Pahalgam attack, among them the Resistance Front, an offshoot of LeT. Credible intelligence led to strikes, also hitting relevant PoK locations tied to previous assaults.
