In a bid to tackle escalating tensions along the international border, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has led a high-level meeting focused on strengthening security measures across the state, with special attention to the border regions. This strategic move was confirmed in a statement from the Chief Minister's Office on Friday.
The urgency of the meeting was underscored by recent events where Pakistani drones were intercepted by Indian air defenses over Jaisalmer, leading to explosions and unusual sky flashes. Subsequent blackouts were advised in multiple regions, including Bikaner, parts of Punjab, Kishtwar, Akhnoor, Samba, Jammu, Amritsar, and Jalandhar. Sharma has ordered all government employees to cancel leave and remain present at their respective headquarters to ensure seamless operations during this delicate time.
Meanwhile, Senior Congress leader and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot reinforced support for the armed forces, urging residents to remain calm and follow government guidelines with due diligence. Gehlot emphasized the Indian Army's capability and highlighted the united front of the ruling party and opposition in the fight against terrorism, recalling previous national victories such as Operation Sindoor in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.
