In a night of heightened tensions, multiple residential buildings in the Kupwara, Poonch, and Rajouri sectors of Jammu were damaged due to cross-border shelling by Pakistan. Visual evidence from these regions highlights the impact on civilian infrastructure.
Residents of Poonch expressed outrage over the attacks, with one local, whose house was damaged, condemning the assaults and questioning Pakistan's motives. The shelling also led to the destruction of a Hanuman Temple in the area, sparking criticism over the targeting of religious sites.
Fear has gripped the residents along the Line of Control (LOC) in Rajouri, prompting many to relocate to safer areas as the shelling persisted. Despite spending the night in bunkers, civilians reported damage to homes and vehicles, as well as casualties among livestock. The shelling, which lasted from 9 pm to 6 am, was part of a series of coordinated attacks by Pakistan, including drone and missile strikes. However, Indian air defense systems, notably the S-400, successfully intercepted many of these threats, preventing significant damage.
