French agricultural minister Annie Genevard addressed the media on Wednesday regarding the ongoing EU-US trade negotiations. She highlighted the scarcity of information but mentioned that a tariff exemption for spirits might be on the table.
After a meeting at the economy ministry with industries affected by these tariffs, Genevard pointed out that the details remained unclear. She emphasized the uncertainty about whether a similar exemption would apply to wine.
Genevard stated, "I have access to information not much more developed than yours – indicating a possible zero-for-zero agreement on spirits, but with no news regarding wine."
