The Indian Micro Fertilisers Manufacturers Association (IMMA) has raised concerns over the current licensing processes that affect the distribution of micronutrient fertilisers in India.
Currently, manufacturers must navigate a complex web of state-specific approvals, which IMMA President Rahul Mirchandani describes as cumbersome and outdated. The organization is advocating for a simplified, centralized licensing platform that would enable quicker, nationwide marketing opportunities.
This system would also ensure accountability regarding label claims and product effectiveness, thus providing farmers with timely, updated nutrient solutions. These reforms are seen as essential to addressing challenges posed by climate change.
