Indian Railways has embarked on a transformative journey for the regional salt industry, marking the inaugural dispatch of an industrial salt-loaded rake from Sanosara, in the Bhuj-Naliya section, to Dahej. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted that this move unlocks untapped potential, providing a lucrative logistics solution that propels the industry forward.
The operation saw the first rake loaded with an impressive 3851.2 tonnes of industrial salt rolling out from the Sanosara Goods Shed, covering a distance of 673.57 km. This achievement is projected to generate Rs 31.69 lakh in freight earnings, affirming a promising future for freight growth and trade connectivity within the region, as noted by the Ahmedabad Division Railway Manager.
In parallel developments, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inspected the Vande Bharat Express, set for a highly anticipated launch by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The PM is scheduled to inaugurate three Vande Bharat Express trains from the KSR Railway Station in Bengaluru, enhancing connectivity for North Karnataka, North India pilgrimages, and the transit between Nagpur and Pune, two major industrial hubs.
