During the Janmashtami celebrations in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a monumental development initiative for the Braj region, allocating Rs 30,000 crore to rejuvenate its spiritual and cultural essence. His announcement seeks to improve the facilities available to devotees, preserving the area's ancient legacy.
At the event held in Mathura, the Chief Minister emphasized that the plan aims to revitalise the historical 'Dwapar' era ambience associated with Lord Krishna. This initiative focuses on enhancing security and amenities at all Braj pilgrimage sites, including Mathura and Vrindavan, ensuring them as prime spiritual destinations.
Adityanath visited the Shri Krishna Janmasthan temple prior to the public address, stating the government's intention to uphold the sanctity of Mathura, Vrindavan, Barsana, Gokul, Baldeo, Govardhan, and Radha Kund. These areas will be maintained as 'Teerths', integral to celebrating Janmashtami as the divine birthplace of Lord Krishna.
