In a move signaling its commitment to inclusive leadership, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has nominated Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan as its Vice Presidential candidate. This decision has garnered support from leaders across political lines, including Congress and Janata Dal (United), who recognize Radhakrishnan's contributions and credentials.

Congress leader Rajesh Thakur, familiar with Radhakrishnan during his stint as Governor of Jharkhand, extended his best wishes and urged Radhakrishnan to consult with former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, who recently resigned, to gain insights into the role.

Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Jha echoed these sentiments, emphasizing Radhakrishnan's background from a backwards community in South India, reflecting on the NDA's focus on social justice and inclusive development. The Vice Presidential election, slated for September 9, will be overseen by Rajnath Singh.

The announcement was made by BJP National President JP Nadda during a Parliamentary Board meeting, where he emphasized the need for consensus and dialogue with the opposition to ensure a smooth election process.

CP Radhakrishnan's nomination comes in the wake of Jagdeep Dhankhar's resignation, who vacated the Vice President post citing health concerns, ending his tenure shortly after the Monsoon Session of Parliament commenced.
