In a pointed Vijayadashami address, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat warned of brewing unrest in India's neighboring countries and potential repercussions for India. Citing the regime changes in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal as a result of public anger, he cautioned against similar forces at work within India.
Bhagwat emphasized the need for democratic means to foster societal transformation, stressing that violent means only invite interference from dominant global powers. He praised the government's efforts to quash the Naxalist insurgency but stressed the need for a comprehensive strategy to ensure justice and development in affected areas.
Additionally, Bhagwat voiced concerns over the acceleration of scientific and technological progress outpacing human adaptation, leading to environmental degradation and social disintegration. He called for India and its South Asian neighbors to heed these warning signs, especially in light of ongoing climate disasters.
