Controversy Arises Over Namaz Offering at Pune's Shaniwar Wada

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has confirmed that legal actions will be taken against anyone found violating the law, following an FIR against three women for offering namaz at Shaniwar Wada, Pune. The statement follows a viral video inciting protests by BJP MP Medha Kulkarni and others.

The Pune City Police registered the FIR under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains (AMASR) Rules, 1959, citing violations at the protected historic site. The incident was reported around 1:45 pm on Saturday, with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) lodging the formal complaint.

Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC emphasized the need for adherence to ASI rules over religious matters, calling for respect towards regulations within ASI-designated areas. She urged avoidance of turning it into a religious issue, highlighting the importance of coexistence and mutual respect.
