Ford has issued a recall for nearly 1.45 million older vehicles in the U.S., citing problems with faulty rear-view cameras, the automaker revealed on Wednesday. The recall will extend warranty coverage for millions of other vehicles as well. This announcement marks another chapter in Ford's ongoing struggle with camera-related issues.

Following last month's global recall of 1.9 million vehicles due to similar problems, this latest recall pertains to models ranging from 2015 to 2020, including the Ford Explorer, Escape, Mustang, Flex, and several Lincoln models. Faulty cameras may display distorted, intermittent, or blank images, heightening the risk of accidents, according to Ford representatives.

As part of a resolution with the NHTSA, the automaker plans to address the issue with a customer satisfaction program, extending the warranty on rear-view cameras for certain vehicles. The move comes amidst a series of recalls throughout the year, with rear-view cameras, low-pressure fuel pumps, and seat-belt systems often cited as concerns.
