The aggression, involving drone and missile attacks, struck residential buildings, infrastructure, and the railway depot, escalating tension in the region bordering Russia.

Ukraine's emergency services reported the attacks via Telegram messenger, highlighting damage to a residential multi-storey building, private homes, and critical infrastructure. This marks yet another episode of Russian aggression that has persistently besieged the Sumy region.

Local governor Ihor Kalchenko confirmed the severe impact on the railway depot, where several carriages were destroyed, and buildings sustained damage. Sumy's strategic location adjacent to Russia places it at the forefront of ongoing conflict and attacks.
