Rosneft's Ryazan oil refinery, one of Russia's largest, has stopped crude processing after a Ukrainian drone attack on November 15, as reported by industry insiders to Reuters. Expectations are set for the plant to stay offline until the month's end, halting oil product loadings until December 1.

Pavel Malkov, Ryazan's Governor, stated on Telegram that debris from the UAV caused a fire at the facility, but did not name the specific site. Ukraine has intensified drone attacks deep into Russian territory, aiming at refineries, depots, and pipelines, with at least 17 major refineries hit this year.

Despite these challenges, Russia's oil processing only dipped by 3% this year as refineries managed to utilize spare capacity to compensate for the damage. Sources noted the fire led to the shutdown of the Ryazan refinery's main crude distillation unit, representing 48% of its total capacity.
