BJP's Shahnawaz Hussain Condemns Jamiat Chief's Provocative Remarks

BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain on Monday took a strong stance against Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind president Maulana Mahmood Madani, condemning his remarks made in Bhopal. Madani had advocated for 'jihad against oppression' in India, a statement Hussain deemed misleading and inflammatory, insisting that Indian Muslims enjoy unmatched rights and freedom.

Hussain expressed disbelief at Madani's assertion that 'jihad' would surface wherever oppression exists, questioning where in India such oppression was occurring. He accused Madani of sowing distrust and unrest among Muslims, stating that such rhetoric could lead the community towards confrontation.

The BJP leader praised India's constitutional protections for Muslims, arguing that no other country offers better conditions. He also lambasted Madani for questioning the Supreme Court's authority, following remarks on issues such as the Babri Masjid and triple talaq. Hussain condemned Madani's statements as attempts to instill fear, asserting that calls for jihad had no place in India.
