Flight disruptions hit passengers hard as IndiGo witnessed the cancellation of ten flights at Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, leaving many stranded. By 8 a.m. on Wednesday, the airline's operational hurdles had become evident, causing a ripple effect across major airports like Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. Stranded travelers struggle with incomplete information and insufficient assistance as they wait for resolutions.

In response, the Union Civil Aviation Ministry has mandated IndiGo to curtail its services by 10%, an increase from an earlier directive of 5%, prioritizing the stabilization of airline operations. Compliance demands that IndiGo maintains its current destination coverage. Additionally, the Ministry of Civil Aviation performed unexpected inspections at several high-traffic airports on Tuesday, aiming to assess and rectify ongoing issues.

Joint Secretary Madhu Sudan Shankar reassured travelers during visits to Mumbai, stating, "Things are in control," after engaging with airport operators and ATC managers. Regions most affected include Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Delhi, alongside other key hubs like Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Authorities noted improvements, and efforts to address baggage issues saw the dispatch of 780 items, 90% scheduled for next-day delivery. Proactive notifications for flight cancellations are issued six hours ahead to mitigate passenger inconvenience, focusing on IndiGo's commitment to full refunds for disrupted flights before December 6.
