Maharashtra Assures Farmers No Shortage of Funds for Grants
Maharashtra's Agriculture Minister assured the legislative council that funds will not be lacking for farmer grants, covering areas like farm ponds and equipment purchase. Maharashtra Agriculture Minister Dattatray Bharne announced the government's commitment to ensuring sufficient funding for farmer grants, covering essential needs such as farm ponds and agricultural equipment.
Responding to concerns from members of the legislative council, Bharne confirmed that 10 lakh farmers out of 47 lakh applications are eligible for these benefits. He assured that no beneficiary would be excluded from the various schemes designed to support them.
The state has committed Rs 5000 crore annually over five years from 2025-26 under the 'Krishi Samruddhi Yojana', focusing on climate-resilient farming, infrastructure, organic practices, and crop diversification to enhance farm sustainability and income.
