In a significant move to combat international crime, India's Ministry of Home Affairs reported on Tuesday that 36 Interpol notices were issued solely in 2025. These include 22 Blue notices for gathering information on suspects and 14 Red notices aimed at provisional arrest of fugitives pending extradition requests.

Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai, highlighted the strides made through Bharatpol, an advanced platform launched earlier in 2025. This platform enhances India's international policing capabilities by connecting local law enforcement agencies with Interpol, enabling real-time information sharing on transnational crimes, including cybercrime and human trafficking.

The initiative is part of India's broader strategy to fortify global law enforcement collaboration and ensure that offenders, particularly economic criminals, terror suspects, and drug traffickers, are brought to justice. India has secured extradition treaties with 48 countries and further arrangements with 12 more, underscoring a robust framework for extradition and intelligence exchange.
