The NDA government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has placed a strong emphasis on supporting farmers through a range of welfare and modernization initiatives, BJP members affirmed in the Rajya Sabha.
During the Motion of Thanks to the President's address, Maya Naroliya (BJP) emphasized the substantial funding allocated to farmer welfare schemes, highlighting the Rs 4 lakh crore distributed under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. This focus has propelled India to become the world's largest rice producer, marking significant agricultural advancement.
Another BJP member, Mahendra Bhatt, echoed these sentiments, stating that the financial aid provided to farmers has instilled confidence, allowing them to persevere in their occupation. Additionally, the PM Fasal Bima Yojna crop insurance scheme further reassures farmers against natural calamities. Highlighting Punjab's vital role in agriculture, Satnam Singh Sandhu described the state's farmers as protectors of the nation's food security.
