India-US Trade Deal Safeguards Farmers' Interests

The minister also introduced an AI platform, Bharat-VISTAAR, to assist farmers.

In a recent statement, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan affirmed that the India-US trade deal prioritizes the welfare of Indian farmers. Speaking in Jaipur, Chouhan emphasized that no decision in the agreement would negatively impact the agricultural community.

Addressing criticisms from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Chouhan labeled them as baseless, arguing that Gandhi lacks an understanding of both trade and traditional farming practices. He questioned past decisions by the Congress, including the neglect of the Swaminathan Committee report recommendations.

Moreover, Chouhan launched Bharat-VISTAAR, an AI-based platform aimed at offering comprehensive support to farmers. The platform represents the government's ongoing commitment to enhance agricultural productivity and farmer empowerment through technological means.
