PM Modi Unveils Multibillion Development Projects in Kerala

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has unveiled a series of developmental projects worth Rs 10,800 crore in Ernakulum, Kerala. These projects span multiple sectors, including rail, road, and energy, and aim to bolster regional infrastructure and connectivity. A key highlight was the electrification of the Shoranur-Nilambur Road Railway Line, expected to improve rail operations and efficiency significantly.
The Prime Minister also laid the foundation for a significant expansion at Bharat Petroleum's Kochi Refinery. With an investment exceeding Rs 5,500 crore, the new Polypropylene Unit is set to boost India's polymer production, reducing dependence on imports and fostering industrial growth, as well as creating new employment opportunities.
In road infrastructure, Modi inaugurated two major highway projects, including the six-laning of NH-66 and the Kozhikode Bypass, meant to enhance connectivity and reduce travel time across key regions. These projects are anticipated to facilitate tourism and trade, alongside improving access to major ports and destinations. Additionally, steps to improve rural roads and modernize railway stations were initiated under the PMGSY and Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, respectively, aiming for comprehensive regional development.
