On Friday, the Swedish Coast Guard announced the release of the oil tanker 'Flora 1,' suspected of being part of a Russian shadow fleet causing a 12 km oil spill near Gotland.

According to the Coast Guard, the 'Flora 1' embarked from Primorsk without a clear destination before being seized. European nations, including Sweden, have ramped up efforts to thwart such fleets used to fund the ongoing conflict in Ukraine — a move criticized by Russia.
