Uttarakhand Advances Char Dham Yatra and Jal Jeevan Mission Initiatives

During a recent Cabinet meeting at the state secretariat, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired discussions centered on the burgeoning excitement surrounding the Char Dham Yatra. Addressing reporters, he noted the influx of devotees nationwide and emphasized the meticulous arrangements made to bolster their pilgrim experience.
Dhami revealed that over 500,000 devotees participated in the pilgrimage within a week, underlying the state's efforts to enhance visitor experience. Concurrently, a significant MoU for the Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0 was inked, a collaborative effort with national and state bodies, aimed at improving water supply infrastructure.
The Chief Minister expressed appreciation to Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil for supporting this initiative, crucial for nearly 1.4 million households in Uttarakhand's challenging terrain. Efforts to preserve ecological balance through conservation campaigns and the establishment of a Spring and River Rejuvenation Authority for traditional water sources were also highlighted.
