A wedding celebration in the Kheta Sarai police station area tragically turned into a scene of violence, as officials reported the fatal shooting of a groom by a relative of the bride. Superintendent of Police Kunwar Anupam Singh informed that the accused, Pradeep Bind, with an accomplice, shot the groom, identified as Azad Bind, during the wedding procession. The groom succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The incident, described as a premeditated attack, has sent shockwaves through the community. Police have registered a case and commenced an extensive manhunt to capture the accused. Speaking at a press briefing, SSP Singh explained, "The investigation revealed that the wedding procession of Azad Bind was interrupted tragically. Pradeep Bind, disapproving of the marriage, conspired with Ravi Yadav to execute this heinous act. We are prioritizing a swift arrest of both perpetrators."
Adding to these tragic events, Ram Lakhan Bind, the father of the deceased, recounted previous violent encounters with the accused, including an assault that left him disabled. Community figures, including Samajwadi Party leader Rakesh Maurya, have openly criticized the government's failure to maintain law and order. Maurya emphasized the brutality of the crime occurring on a public highway and urged immediate police action. Despite these tensions, the Gram Panchayat Head, Amar Kumar Bind, expressed perplexity over the incident, noting no prior conflicts had been reported.
