Andhra Pradesh CM Unveils Historic NABARD Credit Plan for FY27

The plan focuses heavily on agriculture, allocating Rs 2.5 lakh crore, with substantial investments in animal husbandry, aquaculture, and horticulture, emphasizing developmental goals in select regions.

On Tuesday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu took a significant step by unveiling the NABARD credit plan for the fiscal year 2026-27, projecting an outlay surpassing Rs 5 lakh crore. This initiative marks a considerable 20 percent increment from the previous year's Rs 4.2 lakh crore.
The credit plan, outlined in a state focus paper by NABARD, underscores substantial investments in priority sectors, particularly agriculture. It dedicates Rs 2.5 lakh crore specifically to agricultural needs, including Rs 1.6 lakh crore for crop loans. Other considerable allocations include Rs 35,000 crore for animal husbandry and Rs 21,000 crore for fisheries.
Furthermore, notable allocations are made for farm mechanization and horticulture, with Rs 8,285 crore and Rs 12,000 crore respectively. A special emphasis is placed on the Rayalaseema region and Prakasam district, receiving Rs 5,313 crore for horticulture. Additionally, funds have been earmarked for agricultural infrastructure and allied activities, alongside Rs 1.64 lakh crore aimed at supporting MSMEs.
