In the aftermath of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) resounding victory in the West Bengal Assembly Elections, party leader Peeyush Mohanty praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership on Wednesday as the key driver behind the state's anticipated transformation into a modern powerhouse.
Mohanty highlighted that the election results conveyed a clear message for Mamata Banerjee to step aside as Modi focuses on economic revitalization through innovative strategies such as the promotion of technological education and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). According to Mohanty, these initiatives are set to propel West Bengal back to a position of national prominence.
The BJP ended the 15-year reign of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) by winning 207 assembly seats, marking a historic shift in power. In a key highlight of the polls, Suvendu Adhikari defeated Mamata Banerjee in Bhabanipur by over 15,000 votes. However, despite the significant seat count, the BJP's vote share of 45.84% compared to TMC's 40.80% indicated a fiercely contested contest, reflecting an electorate divided yet evolving.
