Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has set the stage for an ambitious agricultural overhaul aimed at the Kharif-2026 season. In a recent meeting, he underscored the importance of preparing well in advance, focusing on quality seeds, fertilizers, and technical assistance for farmers in the state. The directives aim to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place on time to maximize agricultural productivity.

Adityanath emphasized modernizing the agriculture sector by adopting new technology and transparent systems. He advocated for crop diversification, particularly the cultivation of pulses, oilseeds, and millets, in response to changing climate conditions. He also stressed the need for comprehensive action plans in drought-prone areas and the availability of alternative crop seeds.

The chief minister stressed enhanced digital communication with farmers through various media, including social media and traditional platforms like Doordarshan. Additionally, he directed for expedited progress on the Seed Park in Lucknow and advocated for the balanced use of fertilizers, promoting organic alternatives. International agricultural exports are to be aligned with global standards, while modernization and transparency in mandi committees were emphasized for bolstering the agricultural marketing system.
