Rajasthan Society Calls for Cow to be Declared National Animal to Promote Brotherhood

The Rajasthan Hajj Welfare Society advocates for the cow to be designated as India's national animal to foster unity. The Rajasthan Hajj Welfare Society has made an appeal to declare the cow as India's national animal, citing the need to promote a message of brotherhood. Sheikh Haji Nizamuddin, the society's General Secretary, underlined the Quran's teachings of love and unity as key motivations behind this proposal.

Speaking on Eid al-Adha, a significant Islamic holiday, he emphasized that declaring the cow a national symbol could strengthen communal harmony across the country. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party's ST Hasan highlighted the need to keep religious sentiments respectful and encouraged Muslims to avoid politicizing religious practices.

During Eid, people gather for prayers to celebrate the festival dedicated to sacrifice and reflection. As MP Mohibbullah Nadvi pointed out, Eid al-Adha serves as a reminder of unity and compassion, aligning with broader messages of humanity and justice. Observed at the end of the annual Hajj pilgrimage, the festival symbolizes faith and devotion through the commemoration of Prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice in obedience to God.
