On a day marked by environmental consciousness and personal celebration, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took a significant step by initiating the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' tree-planting drive at his official residence in Lucknow. This event, coinciding with his 54th birthday and World Environment Day, underscores the state's dedication to environmental conservation.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the state's achievements in increasing forest cover and its extensive tree plantation efforts over the past nine years, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision. "Fulfilling our environmental responsibilities, we have undertaken large-scale tree plantations and other measures to tackle global warming and environmental issues," Yogi stated.
The Chief Minister elaborated on initiatives like the campaign against single-use plastics, free soil distribution for pond preservation, and comprehensive water conservation strategies. Urging citizens to participate in the tree-planting campaign, he emphasized the need for human-driven solutions to climate change. India, having planted 242 crore saplings in nine years, continues this trajectory with plans for further plantation drives involving students and residents. Prime Minister Modi also extended birthday wishes to CM Yogi, acknowledging his efforts towards improving life quality and statewide growth.
