Assam's Tribute to Heroes: A Day of Remembrance and Unity

Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya attended a tribute program for fallen soldiers and engaged in discussions to strengthen cultural ties between Kashi and Guwahati, aiming to promote heritage and unity. The program honored Assam's martyrs and included interactions with veterans, students, and a Kashi delegation.

In a solemn tribute to Assam's brave soldiers, Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya attended the 'Amar Shaheed Shradhanjali' program at the Assam State War Memorial and Don Bosco High School. The event, organized by the Directorate of Sainik Welfare, honored those who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

Highlighting the relentless dedication of the Indian Armed Forces, the Governor echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's sentiments that the soldiers protect both the country's borders and its future. He described them as the embodiment of India's strength and character.

The program saw six Veer Naris, widows of fallen soldiers, paying floral tributes to their husbands. Governor Acharya praised their resilience and courage, emphasizing their role as lasting inspirations for society. The gathering included veterans, defense personnel, NCC cadets, and students, unified in remembrance.

During a separate interaction, Governor Acharya welcomed a delegation from Kashi, led by Varanasi Mayor Ashok Kumar Tiwari. Their visit highlighted the enduring cultural bonds between Kashi and Guwahati. Discussions focused on tourism, cultural exchanges, and heritage conservation, aiming to enhance national unity.

The Governor stressed the importance of knowledge exchange and best civic practices between the two cities, expressing confidence in their potential to strengthen cultural ties and promote integration. Delegates from Kashi shared insights into various civic initiatives, showing interest in collaboration with Assam.
