In a new political storm, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy strongly denounced the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for what he termed a 'conspiracy' leading to the dismissal of Congress candidate Meenakshi Natarajan's Rajya Sabha nomination from Madhya Pradesh. This sharp criticism was delivered through a post on social media platform X, where Reddy labeled the incident an 'assault on democracy,' further alleging the BJP of actively working to silence the voices of the public.

Revanth Reddy stated, 'I condemn the conspiracy by the BJP in Madhya Pradesh, resulting in Ms. Meenakshi Natarajan Ji's Rajya Sabha nomination rejection. Following Vote Chori and SIR, they resort to Seat Chori. This is an assault on democracy. While condemning this dark day for Indian democracy, we pledge to fight for justice,' he added.

Simultaneously, Meenakshi Natarajan criticized the BJP for allegedly attempting to manipulate the Rajya Sabha elections. During a press conference, she accused the BJP of having previously subverted elections in Madhya Pradesh. Natarajan highlighted, 'This isn't just about a specific seat or candidate; it's a broader struggle for the 'Idea of India' as our leader, Rahul Gandhi, continues to fight for democratic principles. The pressing question remains: will democracy prevail and prevent the establishment of a one-party dictatorship?'

Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari vowed to challenge the decision, stating that the party will 'fight with all its might.' He questioned the role of the election officer, who allegedly aligned with the BJP's political agenda, labeling the situation as an act of 'sheer political malice.' The Rajya Sabha biennial elections are scheduled for June 18.
