The Saket District Court has mandated the submission of an Action Taken Report (ATR) following a criminal complaint lodged against YouTuber Dhruv Rathee. The complaint urges the registration of an FIR, accusing Rathee of uploading content disrespectful to Lord Shri Ram and Sita.
Amita Sachdeva, the complainant, alleges that the video insults Sanatan Dharma and distorts Hindu scriptures, potentially stirring anti-Hindu sentiment and promoting religious discord. Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Niharika Kumar Sharma has instructed the SHO of Cyber Crime Police Station, Saket, to provide an ATR.
On June 9, the court ordered a detailed report on any complaints made to or received by the police. It additionally asks whether any action has been initiated, including FIR registration and the progress of the investigation. The report is due by September 10, 2026, as Sachdeva's complaint, filed through advocate Makarand D Adkar, claims Rathee's video, viewed by millions, delivers inflammatory remarks.
