Trinamool Congress (TMC) youth leader Soumitra Banerjee faced an egg attack on Tuesday while being escorted to court by police, amid escalating political tensions in West Bengal. Authorities quickly managed to disperse the crowd and safely transported Banerjee to the courthouse.
The incident follows the arrest of Banerjee, spurred by BJP leader Ravi Keshari’s complaint, accusing him of instigating attacks on BJP workers. Just a day earlier, another TMC leader, Kunal Ghosh, also faced an egg attack perpetrated by a local youth.
Ghosh described the incident as 'unfortunate' and stood firm against political intimidation. He accused the assailants of being BJP miscreants and criticized the police for inaction during the episode near Mamata Banerjee’s residence. Despite such attacks, Ghosh remains steadfast in his principles, asserting his readiness to face further challenges.
