Vietnam delegation meets K. V. Eapen to discuss administrative reforms policies

Shri K.V. Eapen briefed Mr Tran Van Tuy about the Government’s policy of “Minimum Government-Maximum Governance” which sought to ease citizen’s interface with Government by adopting digitalization practices.

Mr Tran Van Tuy, Member, Central Party Committee and Deputy Head of the Party's Central Committee's Commission for Organization met Shri K. V. Eapen, Secretary Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances and discussed India-Vietnam collaboration in e-Governance. Mr Tran Van Tuy, heading an 8-member Vietnam delegation to India, discussed the administrative reforms policies being pursued in India. He also discussed the public grievance redressal mechanisms being adopted.

Shri K.V. Eapen briefed Mr Tran Van Tuy about the Government's policy of "Minimum Government-Maximum Governance" which sought to ease citizen's interface with Government by adopting digitalization practices. He said that the Department of Administrative Reforms conducts the annual e-Governance National Conference were awarded on conferred on the best innovations in e-Governance, for improving the standard of services rendered to the common man. This year, one of the awardees was "Umang" a mobile application which hosted several digital services. The DARPG Secretary said that India's e-Governance model reduced corruption and brought transparency to governance systems. Both officials agreed that it was necessary for India and Vietnam to adopt e-Governance practices.

Mr Tran Van Tuy said that as a follow-up to today's discussions, a delegation of Vietnamese officials would be sent to India to study the innovative approaches to e-Governance and develop further collaboration.

The meeting was attended by Shri V. Srinivas, Additional Secretary, DARPG, senior officials of the Department and the Ambassador of Vietnam to India.
