Fuel tanker explodes in Nigeria's Gombe; 1 killed

A fuel tanker has exploded in Nigeria's Gombe in which at least 1 person was killed. Several shops were also damaged due to the impact of the massive explosion. It is being reported that the tanker was traveling from Gombe to Bauchi when the incident occurred.

The explosion reportedly occurred after the fuel tanker collided with a container while trying to overtake it.

Private water tankers were initially being used to put out the fire but officials of fire service and other security agencies also reported to the place shortly.
