Telangana Assembly adopts resolution against CAA, NPR, NRC

Hyderabad, Mar 16 (PTI): The Telangana Legislative Assemblyon Monday adopted a resolution against the CAA, NPR and theNRC

It urged the Centre to amend the Citizenship AmendmentAct "to remove all references to any religion, or to anyforeign country" in view of apprehensions among a largesection of people in India

The resolution, moved by Chief Minister K ChandrasekharRao, said members were concerned over the proposedimplementation of the National Population Register andNational Register of Citizens, "which may result in exclusionof a large number of people" It urged the Telangana government to take all necessarysteps to safeguard the people of the state from exercises suchas NPR and NRC.
