AstraZeneca Reports Rs 12 Crore Net Loss in Q1 2024

AstraZeneca Pharma India reported a Rs 12 crore net loss for Q1 2024, a significant contrast to the Rs 54 crore profit reported in the same period last fiscal. Despite a rise in total income to Rs 396 crore, shares dropped by 6.77% on BSE. The company remains focused on expanding access to its therapies.

AstraZeneca Pharma India reported a net loss of Rs 12 crore for the first quarter ending June 30, 2024, a stark contrast to the Rs 54 crore profit it posted in the same quarter last year.

Total income for the June quarter surged to Rs 396 crore, up from Rs 303 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, as per the company's regulatory filing.

Sanjeev Panchal, AstraZeneca India Country President and Managing Director, emphasized the company’s commitment to ensuring broader access to its therapies through sustainable programs and collaborations with healthcare systems and policymakers.

However, shares of AstraZeneca Pharma closed 6.77% lower at Rs 6,613.40 apiece on the BSE.
