A day after West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose visited RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, a group of 30-35 agitating doctors met him at the Raj Bhavan on Friday to discuss their security concerns, an official said.
The group informed Bose of several alleged malpractices at the medical facility. They expressed their insecurity at the hospital and requested central government intervention for their safety following vandalism on Wednesday night, an official told PTI.
Governor Bose assured the doctors he would escalate the matter to the Union Home Ministry. After visiting RG Kar Hospital, Bose had expressed concern over the vandalism and labeled it a 'shame for civil society.' The vandalism occurred on the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday, where the body of a woman doctor was found last week.
