Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma recently visited Japan's Kobe to meet with nurses from the state now employed in Japanese hospitals through the Mission Moon initiative, officials reported.

This visit underscores Meghalaya's efforts to create global career pathways for its youth in healthcare. Under the initiative launched in March 2023, 27 nurses have been placed in Japan, as part of a broader effort to send 100 trained professionals to countries facing healthcare staff shortages.

The expansion of this program, highlighted by the August 2023 Overseas Nursing Job Fair in Shillong, is preparing 500-1,000 more youths for international roles. Aimed at boosting local skills for global impact, Mission Moon is transforming lives and placing Meghalaya on the global stage.
