The state of Maharashtra reported six new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing the total count for the year to 2,726, according to the state's public health department.
Health authorities confirmed 43 deaths due to the virus this year, most involving individuals with pre-existing health conditions. Mumbai alone accounted for 1,091 cases, including 551 from June and 99 from July.
Across the state, 41,872 COVID-19 tests have been completed, and 2,650 individuals have successfully recovered from the virus so far.
