Raghav Chadha, a leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, has raised an urgent appeal in Rajya Sabha concerning the widespread adulteration of food products across India. He emphasized the pressing need for the government to empower the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) to address this escalating crisis.

Chadha pointed out how adulteration poses significant health threats, particularly to vulnerable groups like children, the elderly, and pregnant women. He cited examples of brick powder in 'garam masala', synthetic coloring in tea, and anabolic steroids in poultry, underscoring the dangerous nature of these practices.

Chadha further called for immediate governmental action to increase fines, enhance testing facilities, and implement a public recall mechanism for contaminated products. Simultaneously, another AAP leader, Ashok Kumar Mittal, highlighted violent attacks on Indians abroad, linking remittances to India's economic stability.
