Covering nearly 12 crore families, this transformative initiative significantly reduces healthcare expenses for India's bottom 40%, as it enables extensive access to essential health services. Notably, senior citizens have been included, while over 43.52 crore Ayushman cards have been distributed.
Healthcare services are further enhanced by 36,229 empanelled hospitals, offering 1,961 health packages across 27 specialties, addressing chronic and non-communicable diseases. The scheme's expansion underlines India's commitment to improve healthcare access and affordability.
