NHRC assures review of healthcare deficiencies after child deaths scare in Bihar

NHRC has taken suo motu cognizance of reports of loss of human lives due to deficiencies and inadequacies in the Indian healthcare system as AES deaths mount in Bihar, raising eyebrows over the efficiency of the healthcare system.

NHRC added that it has also issued notices to Chief Secretary of all states and Union Territories after reports of unhygienic conditions in many government hospitals.

NHRC will also conduct fact-finding investigations in "vulnerable" states. Bihar, UP, Haryana and Punjab will undergo these investigations, more states are likely to be added to the list.
