In a fiery address outside Pakistan's Parliament House on Tuesday, Information Minister Attatullah Tarar accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan of leveraging the military for political gain, according to ARY News.
Tarar criticized Khan for his inconsistency, noting that after initially refusing to relent, Khan had attacked military installations and desecrated memorials. These actions, Tarar argued, were followed by a dubious offer to negotiate with the military, which he described as a conspiracy against the state.
Further vilifying PTI, Tarar labeled it a terrorist organization and held the party responsible for recent national chaos. He also accused Khan of compromising national security through social media and highlighted the involvement of Khan’s relatives in the May 9 riots. On the same day, Imran Khan reiterated his call for negotiations with the military, defending his party's stance in a court hearing at Adiala jail.
