India and Vietnam Strengthen Ties with Joint Army Software Park Inauguration and Multiple MOUs Signing

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vietnam PM Pham Minh Chinh inaugurated the Army Software Park at the Tele-Communications University in Nha Trang, Vietnam, on Thursday. The event saw the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.

A significant MOU detailing a plan to advance the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and Vietnam from 2024 to 2028 was exchanged by Vietnam Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son and India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. Additionally, an MOU for customs capacity building was signed by Nguyen Van Can, Director-General of Vietnam Customs, and Sanjay Agarwal, Chairman of CBIC India.

Further agreements included an MOU between Central Agricultural University in Imphal, Manipur, and the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Science in Hanoi, focusing on agriculture, research, and education. Legal cooperation agreements were signed between the Ministry of Law and Justice of India and the Ministry of Justice of Vietnam. Moreover, media cooperation was formalized between Prasar Bharti and the Voice of Vietnam. Financial collaborations were also marked by a USD120 million dollar credit line agreement between Vietnam's Ministry of Finance and the Export-Import Bank of India. A letter of intent for the restoration and conservation of My Son UNESCO World Heritage site was also exchanged.
