In a significant boost for its tourism industry, Jordan attracted over 1.32 million visitors from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in 2024, marking a substantial 15% increase from the previous year's 1.15 million. This influx is part of Jordan's strategic push to become a leading destination for Gulf travelers.

The rise in visitors was accompanied by an increase in the average length of stay, indicating a trend toward longer, more immersive holidays. The summer months, in particular, saw a surge in visitors, often incorporating multiple destinations within Jordan into their itineraries, reflecting the nation's successful tourism strategy.

Saudi Arabia led the way with 1.158 million visitors, a 17% jump from 2023, as the moderate highland temperatures and varied landscapes provided an attractive escape from the intense Gulf heat. Other GCC nations also contributed significantly, with Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman showing impressive growth in their visitor numbers.
