A tragic accident occurred in Nawabshah where a van transporting pilgrims overturned on Amri Road, resulting in the deaths of at least four individuals and injuries to ten others, according to ARY News. The incident happened while the van was on its way to Sehwan Sharif, and it reportedly lost control due to speeding. Rescue teams responded promptly and confirmed that the victims were transported to a nearby hospital for medical assistance.
Authorities are still investigating the exact cause of the accident. However, preliminary reports attribute the mishap to the driver’s excessive speed. The identities of the deceased and injured remain undisclosed. This incident is part of a troubling pattern of road accidents recently seen across Pakistan. On January 5, another accident in the Ada Gajiyani area resulted in three fatalities and over 20 injuries, following a collision, as reported by ARY News.
Moreover, a devastating bus crash on December 30, 2024, near Punjab's Fateh Jang area claimed at least ten lives, with the bus traveling from Bahawalpur to Islamabad. This crash resulted in seven additional injuries, with the victims requiring medical attention at Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. The Motorway Police cited the bus driver's negligence as the primary cause of that accident, highlighting an urgent need for improved road safety measures. (ANI)
