Balochistan Crisis: Surge in Extrajudicial Killings Stirs Protests

The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), a prominent Baloch human rights organization, has raised alarms over the increasing incidence of extrajudicial killings and persistent enforced disappearances in Balochistan. In a recent post on X, BYC highlighted the ongoing protests by Karim Baloch's relatives and Gomazi residents against his murder by state-backed death squads.

Simultaneously, protests by the kin of three forcibly taken brothers—Waheed, Nadeem, and Hafeez Majeed—continue with roadblocks at Pasni Zero Point. The family of missing Jhanzeb Baloch is similarly protesting and obstructing CPEC road in Surab, despite violent attacks on their sit-in by state-sponsored groups, causing injuries.

BYC appeals to human rights groups to condemn Pakistani forces' actions and hold those accountable for crimes against the Baloch community. Reports detail further atrocities, such as the custodial death and injury of two Baloch individuals, highlighting pressure on victims' families to remain silent amidst widespread state oppression and economic marginalization.
